Job summary

Manulife is expanding its Advanced Analytics and GenAI capabilities to transform Finance, Treasury, and Actuarial decision-making. We seek two Applied AI Engineers with strong modeling skills and a product mindset to build reliable, governable AI solutions that integrate into real business workflows.

You will design end-to-end GenAI/ML solutions, develop models, and collaborate across engineering teams to deploy and monitor production systems.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience in applied data science / machine learning with end-to-end delivery into production.
• Strong Python + SQL with software engineering practices (Git, testing, logging, clear code).
• Hands-on experience with DS/ML tooling (scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow, Spark/Databricks).
• Ability to build and communicate solution architecture with clear diagrams and specs.
• Experience building and evaluating GenAI solutions (RAG, structured summarization, LLMs).
• Strong evaluation skills: backtesting, holdouts, metrics, regression tests.
• Experience with production readiness: monitoring data quality, drift, latency, remediation.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end GenAI + ML solution design from user workflow to data lineage and controls.
• Build ML/GenAI components for Finance & Actuarial use cases including forecasting and anomaly detection.
• Set evaluation plans: backtesting, edge cases, human review rubrics, regression tests.
• Partner with Data Eng, ML Eng, and Software teams to productionize data pipelines, model packaging, CI/CD, deployment and monitoring.
• Create runbooks and support adoption and UAT with business users.
• Document model limitations and build guardrails for governance and privacy.
