Job summary

Manulife’s Group Functions AI team is scaling AI and advanced analytics capabilities across Finance, Treasury, Actuarial, and related enterprise functions to improve decision making and insights generation. You will translate business problems into AI use cases, design end-to-end solutions, and build production-ready components with strong governance and explainability.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of applied data science or analytics delivery with production experience.
• Strong Python and SQL with solid software engineering practices.
• Hands-on experience with scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and distributed processing (Spark/Databricks).
• Ability to design and communicate solution architecture with clear diagrams and specs.
• Strong evaluation and backtesting skills for ML and analytics.
• Experience building and operating monitored data pipelines with drift checks and remediation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication; able to drive adoption.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end actuarial AI solution design and data/workflow scoping.
• Develop models for predictive risk, segmentation, anomaly detection, and forecasting.
• Build GenAI capabilities for retrieval-based summarization and guided workflows.
• Design and implement evaluation plans, guardrails, and traceability into production.
• Collaborate with data/ML engineers to productionize pipelines and monitoring.
• Document model risk, validation results, and UAT evidence; ensure privacy and controls.
• Mentor junior scientists and promote reusable templates and templates.
