Job summary

Raise is hiring a Data Scientist III for a top client in Toronto. The ideal candidate will work in a hybrid setup (2/3 on-site, Thursdays for team collaboration) on a 12-month contract, translating business goals into analytical problems and developing GenAI-enabled ML solutions.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy descriptive, predictive, and ML models, emphasizing feature engineering, model evaluation, and prompt engineering for LLMs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/Stats/Math
• 5+ years of data science development experience
• Proficient in Python for data science and GenAI development
• Advanced SQL and PySpark for multi-source data
• ML modelling including supervised/unsupervised techniques
• Data transformation across structured/unstructured data
• Understanding of APIs, microservices, cloud-native development
• GenAI frameworks and LLM APIs with bot/agent development
• RAG, prompt engineering, and embedding/vector databases familiarity
• Experience in chatbot/conversational AI design
• Strong communication to explain complex concepts to stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple projects with changing deadlines
• Mentor to junior data scientists/engineers
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Translate business goals into analytical problems and identify suitable algorithms and GenAI architectures
• Work in cross-functional teams to develop ML/data science products including GenAI applications
• Apply descriptive, predictive, and machine learning methods from design to implementation
• Focus on feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and prompt engineering for LLMs
• Design, develop, and deploy GenAI solutions including AI agents and chatbots
• Research and pilot GenAI tech and RAG techniques for agentic frameworks
• Lead technical design artifacts describing data models and interfaces
• Engage stakeholders with clear findings and actionable recommendations
• Champion continuous improvement and innovation in analytics practices
