Job summary

Bevertec is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead GenAI and machine learning initiatives in a hybrid Toronto-based role on a 12-month contract. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of data science experience, strong Python, and hands-on GenAI development using LLM APIs.

You will work on data transformation, model training, and integrating AI bots with tool-use capabilities, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing and implementing data science solutions.
• Strong Python programming for ML and GenAI.
• Knowledge of supervised and unsupervised ML, model training/evaluation.
• Experience with SQL and PySpark.
• Data transformation and handling structured/unstructured data.
• Understanding of APIs, microservices and cloud-native apps.
• Hands-on GenAI development with LLMs and frameworks.
• Experience building AI bots with reasoning and tool-use.

Responsibilities
