Job summary

Securiguard Services Ltd. is seeking Gatehouse Security Guards to join our team at a distribution centre in Durham, Ontario. You will screen inbound and outbound trucks, verify driver IDs, and keep accurate logs while maintaining a secure environment and following all site procedures.

Ontario Security Guard Licence and First Aid CPR are required, along with strong communication and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. Shifts include days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence and First Aid CPR.
• Experience at gatehouse or distribution centre preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to the distribution centre.
• Process inbound and outbound trucks at the gatehouse.
• Verify driver identification, shipping documents, and delivery paperwork.
• Conduct inspections of trucks, trailers, and areas per site policy.
• Check trailer seal numbers and document-site record matching.
• Record vehicle, trailer, and visitor information accurately.
• Perform gatehouse inspections and security checks.
• Maintain logs and incident/occurrence reports.
• Communicate with site personnel, drivers, and management.
• Respond to security incidents and emergencies as required.
• Perform routine property patrols when necessary.
• Ensure site security, safety, and procedures are followed.

We are seeking professional and detail-oriented Gatehouse Security Guards to work at one of our distribution centres in Durham.. This position will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our facility by effectively screening inbound and outbound trucks at the gatehouse. If you are a highly responsible individual with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining a secure environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to the distribution centre.
• Process inbound and outbound trucks in accordance with site procedures.
• Verify driver identification, shipping documents, and delivery paperwork.
• Conduct inspections of trucks, trailers, and other areas as required by site policies.
• Check trailer seal numbers and ensure documentation matches site records.
• Record vehicle, trailer, and visitor information accurately.
• Perform gatehouse inspections and security checks.
• Maintain detailed logs and complete incident and occurrence reports.
• Communicate effectively with site personnel, drivers, and management.
• Respond to security incidents and emergencies as required.
• Perform routine patrols of the property when necessary.
• Ensure all site security, safety, and operational procedures are followed.

Requirements

• Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence and First Aid CPR
• Previous gatehouse, distribution centre, warehouse, or security experience is preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Strong computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent truck traffic.
• Ability to conduct truck and trailer inspections and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation is considered an asset.
• Ability to work days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Pay Range: $18 to $19.22
