Job summary

TransCanada Turbines (TCT) is seeking a Temporary Full-time Bench Technician - Component Repair in Balzac, AB. The role involves repairing gas turbine engine parts per OEM guidelines, using hand tools and various repair processes under the Team Leader, Component Repair.

The candidate should have related experience and be comfortable with shift rotations, including nights as needed. We offer a 6-month temporary contract with potential extension, onsite parking, and a dynamic team environment

Qualifications

• 2+ years related experience or a combination of experience & education will be considered.
• Shift rotation (day, afternoon, occasional night).
• Criminal background check required.
• Post-offer medical and drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Hand blending and polishing of gas turbine components following OEM guidelines.
• Thread repair on components including broken bolt removal, heli-coil inserts, tapping and hole cleanup.
• Cold working of damaged alloys to restore contour and repair warping or dents.
• Follow engineered diagrams and repair schemes.
• Handle materials and use hand tools safely and effectively.
• Assist in training salvage area personnel and develop work instructions.
• Support supervisor with job priorities, scheduling and stock optimization.
