Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Gas Technician who will deliver, install, and service gas-fired construction heaters and temporary heating equipment on commercial and industrial sites. You will troubleshoot burners, regulators, ignition systems, and gas valves, while performing leak tests and safety inspections.

You will also train customers on safe operation and handle service reports and equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• Gas Fitter Class B ticket required; Class A considered an asset.
• Experience servicing gas-fired heating equipment or HVAC systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Able to work independently in construction environments.
• Available for occasional evening, weekend, and emergency service calls.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, install, and service gas-fired construction heaters and temporary heating equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair burners, regulators, ignition systems, gas valves, and controls.
• Perform gas leak testing, safety inspections, and equipment commissioning.
• Train customers on safe operation of heating equipment.
• Complete service reports, inspections, and delivery documentation.
• Inspect, clean, test, and prepare returned equipment for rental readiness.
• Coordinate deliveries, pickups, and service calls with customers and internal teams.
• Safely operate company vehicles and participate in on-call rotation.

This role is responsible for the delivery, installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of gas-fired construction heaters and temporary heating equipment used on commercial, industrial, and construction job sites.The successful candidate will troubleshoot and repair heating equipment, perform gas system inspections, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and provide customers with operational training and support.
