Job summary

GardaWorld in Calgary is seeking a Set-up Analyst to configure and deploy security systems, including VMS, IP cameras, and alarm configurations, ensuring alignment with documented procedures.

You will work with internal teams to validate post-deployment functionality, maintain accurate records, and support maintenance and decommissioning activities while upholding privacy requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, or related field.
• Experience with VMS platforms such as Immix, Avigilon, Syncro, Orchid, or similar.
• Basic understanding of IP networking.
• CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Configure VMS, NVRs, IP cameras, and alarm systems for new installations following documented procedures.
• Validate video feeds, camera angles, and recording settings using checklists.
• Apply standard alarm thresholds and motion detection rules as defined by guidelines.
• Assist with decommissioning activities, including removal of cameras, NVRs, and user accounts.
• Document system configurations and ROI designs accurately.
• Coordinate with other internal SETUP teams when required.

What Your Days Will Look Like

Key Responsibilities

System Configuration & Deployment

• Configure VMS, NVRs, IP cameras, and alarm systems for new installations following documented procedures. (sites, phases, poles, or individual cameras)
• Perform basic integration of devices with video management and monitoring platforms.
• Validate video feeds, camera angles, and recording settings using provided checklists.

Alarms Implementation

• Apply standard alarm thresholds and motion detection rules as defined by business guidelines.
• Ensure configurations align with established best practices and templates.
• Flag potential configuration concerns for review by senior analysts.

System Maintenance & Decommissioning

• Assist with decommissioning activities, including removal of cameras, NVRs, and user accounts.
• Maintain accurate records of configuration changes and completed tasks.
• Perform configuration file backups under guidance.

Troubleshooting & Escalation

• Resolve basic technical issues such as connectivity checks and simple configuration errors.
• Escalate non-standard or complex issues following established escalation paths.
• Coordinate with other internal SETUP teams when required.

Documentation & Compliance

• Document system configurations and ROI designs accurately.
• Follow data protection and privacy requirements, including masking guidelines.
• Update internal documentation as instructed.

Collaboration & Development

• Work closely with team members to validate post-deployment functionality.
• Participate in required training sessions and skill development initiatives.
• Seek guidance and feedback to build technical competency.

What We're Looking For

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)

Experience (Preferred)

• Exposure to VMS platforms such as Immix, Avigilon, Syncro, Orchid, or similar
• Basic understanding of IP camera systems and alarm configurations

Skills

• Foundational understanding of IP networking
• Strong attention to detail and process adherence

Certifications (Preferred)

• CompTIA A+ or equivalent
