Job summary

GardaWorld is hiring a Field Service Technician to install and service Smart Security Systems in Halifax or Truro. You will handle wiring for clean panel installs, understand wireless devices, and ensure customers receive the right devices for their home.

Travel is required, and a company vehicle is provided along with benefits. You will build strong customer relations, train users on feature sets, and maintain inventory for installations and service calls while solving problems promptly and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Clean criminal record.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Alarm system technical experience preferred.
• Sales experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install and service Smart Security Systems with clean panel wiring and awareness of wireless devices.
• Maintain professional customer relations and train customers on system features.
• Manage personal equipment inventory and order gear as needed for installations and service.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues, consult manuals, and escalate when necessary.

What Your Days Will Look Like

• Installation and Servicing of Smart Security Systems. You understand how to do wire runs to ensure a clean panel install. Knowledge of wireless devices, their benefits as well as limitations to ensure customers are getting the right devices for their home. Understanding of our Quality standards and installing and servicing to those standards.
• Customer relations. You understand how to communicate with customers in a professional manner. Ability to train customers on how their system works ensuring that they have a clear understanding of all features. Answer customer questions with patience and professionalism.
• Managing Personal Inventory. You keep track of your personal equipment inventory and order equipment as necessary to ensure that you are prepared for installations and servicing. Weekly personal equipment inventory counts to keep track of rolling inventory variances.
• Problem Solving. You have the ability to troubleshoot situations as they arise. Read instruction manuals when facing something new, call technical support and contact proper channels for help if needed.
