Job summary

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Sports Management, Event Management, or a related field.
  • Interest in sports broadcast or sports media; 8-month term preferred.
  • Prior experience in sports, event execution, or customer service.
  • Ability to lift 35–50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sharp attention to detail and time management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with setup and teardown of game-day facilities (court layout, benches, scoreboards, sound, signage).
  • Serve as primary contact for visiting teams, officials, and game staff.
  • Support table crew and game staff operations (scorekeepers, shot clock, P.A.).
  • Monitor game-day timelines to keep events on schedule.
  • Conduct pre-event venue walk-throughs for cleanliness and safety.
  • Assist in managing inventory for game-day equipment and supplies.
  • Coordinate parking, entry protocols, access for teams, VIPs, spectators.
  • Support in-game promotions, halftime activations, spectator contests.
  • Assist with music cues, announcements, and audio/visual elements.
  • Handle fan inquiries on-site with high service standards.
  • Manage ticketing platform and day-to-day ticket sales support.
  • Set up and operate live stream broadcasts of home games.
  • Support merchandise sales on game days.
  • Write game scripts for pre-game, halftime, and in-game announcer.
  • Direct post-game breakdown and venue reset.
  • Track game-day metrics for post-event reporting.
  • Work with events manager on weekly planning and debriefs.

Game Operations Intern - 8 Month Internship
Position Summary

The Game Operations Intern plays an active role in planning, executing, and evaluating all game-day operations and eventlogistics. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone looking to gain direct experience in sports administration, facility readiness, event production, and fan experience.

You’llwork closely with venue staff, coaches, officials, and external vendors to ensure every event runs smoothly from load-in to wrap-up.

This internship opportunityis especially well suited to someone building toward a career in sports broadcast or sports media, who wants sustained, hands‑on exposure to how a live sporting eventactually comestogether.

Key Responsibilities

Game-Day Execution & Operations

  • Assistwith complete setup and teardown of game-day facilities, including court/field layout, bench areas, scoreboards, sound systems, and signage
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for visiting teams, officials, and game staff to ensure their logistical needs (locker rooms, warm-up schedules, towels, water) are met
  • Support table crew and game staff operations (e.g., scorekeepers, shot clock operators, public address announcers)
  • Monitor game-day timelines (pre-game routines, halftime schedules, post-game procedures) to keep events running strictly on schedule

Event Logistics & Venue Readiness

  • Conduct pre-event walk-throughs to inspect venue cleanliness, safety standards, and equipment functionality
  • Assistin managing inventory for game-day equipment, uniforms, and event supplies
  • Coordinate parking, entry protocols, and access control for teams, VIPs, and spectators

Fan Experience & In-Game Entertainment

  • Support the execution of in-game promotions, halftime activations, and spectator contests
  • Assistwith music cues, public address announcements, and audio/visual elements during the event
  • Handle fan inquiries or operational issues on-site with a high standard of customer service
  • Manage the ticketing platform, including setup and day to day ticket sales support
  • Set up,operate, and provide ongoing support for live stream broadcasts of home games
  • Support merchandise sales on game days
  • Write game scripts (e.g., pre-game, halftime, and in-game announcer scripts) to guide game day presentation

Post-Game & Administrative Support

  • Direct post-game breakdown, equipment lock-up, and venue reset
  • Track game-day metrics (attendance, operational notes, incidents) toassistwith post-event reporting
  • Work closely with the events manager to execute smooth operation across weekly planning and debriefs for upcoming games or tournaments
Qualifications & Experience
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Sports Management, Event Management, Kinesiology, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Background, coursework, or demonstrated interest in sports broadcast or sports media is a strong asset. This role is best suited to a highly committed candidate looking to build a career in that field, which is why the 8-month term is preferred over a shorter placement
  • Prior experience or background in sports, event execution, or customer service is a strong asset
  • Ability to lift 35-50lbsand stand/walk for extended periods during setup and teardown
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and select holidays based on the game schedule, in addition to a standing weekly commitment
  • High levelof adaptability and quick problem-solving under pressure
  • Strong communicationand interpersonal skills
  • Sharp attention to detail and strong time management
