Job summary

Electronic Arts’ Respawn Entertainment is seeking a Game Designer Intern to join the Apex Legends team. You will help prototype and refine gameplay features, mentored by the Senior Lead Game Designer, and collaborate with designers, engineers and other disciplines to push vision and polish gameplay systems.

You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program with a 2027 graduation window, and you bring passion for gameplay design, detailed craft, and a collaborative spirit to a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program with graduation no earlier than December 2027.
• Interest and passion in creating gameplay systems, mechanics and game modes.
• Strong attention to detail and polish.
• Collaborative and inclusive attitude; asks questions, learns and adapts.
• Able to communicate design ideas to non-designers.
• Experience with a game engine or framework (Unreal, Unity, Godot, SDL, etc.).
• Drive to learn and comprehend the game design process.
• Nice to Have: Experience with C++.
• Nice to Have: Portfolio of game projects.
• Nice to Have: Interest in multiplayer live service environments.
• Nice to Have: Familiarity with the Battle Royale genre.

Responsibilities

• Work with designers, engineers and other creative to develop the vision and improve compelling gameplay systems.
• Write functional script that aligns with technical best practices.
• Align and collaborate with multiple disciplines to promote the vision of gameplay features.
• Improve on features based on playtesting, design requirements, and creative direction.
