Job summary

The Nature Trust of British Columbia is seeking a Fundraising Specialist for a full-time hybrid role based in our Vancouver office. You will lead annual giving campaigns, steward donors, and collaborate across teams to grow a sustainable fundraising pipeline.

Key responsibilities include multi-channel campaigns, donor communication, data management in Raiser's Edge NXT, and cross-department collaboration. A degree and 4+ years in fundraising are required, with a Canada work eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Relevant undergraduate degree, training or certification in a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in fundraising or in a related field.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong data management and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; knowledge of Adobe Creative is an asset.
  • Advanced experience working within a CRM (Raiser’s Edge NXT experience an asset).
  • Must be legally allowed to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of multi-channel fundraising campaigns including goals, timelines, content strategy, audience segments, and follow-up plans.
  • Develop and execute targeted fundraising initiatives to increase acquisition, retention and giving levels (up to $10,000) while building pipelines for monthly, mid-level, major, and legacy giving.
  • Oversee stewardship activities to ensure timely, meaningful, and consistent donor engagement.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and provide an exceptional donor experience in every interaction.
  • Collaborate with Communications to develop donor-centered fundraising materials and messages with consistent branding.
  • Maintain accurate donor data and activity in Raiser’s Edge NXT.

Fundraising Specialist

This is a full-time, hybrid position based in our Vancouver office.

About Us

NTBC (The Nature Trust of British Columbia) is a leading non-profit land conservation organization dedicated to conserving BC’s biodiversity through securement, restoration, and management of ecologically significant lands. Since 1971, we have secured over 180,000 acres of ecologically significant land. The treasured landscapes we have protected forever include the Xwésam (Salmon) River on Vancouver Island, Boundary Bay in the Lower Mainland, White Lake Basin in the Okanagan, and the 10,000-acre Hoodoos conservation complex in the Kootenays.

About the Role

You’re an experienced and donor-centric fundraiser who is organized, collaborative, and energized by the opportunity to connect people with meaningful ways to support conservation in BC.As our Fundraising Specialist, you will report to the Director of Development & Communications andlead the day-to-day delivery of NTBC’s annual giving, contributing to the growth of a strong, sustainable fundraising pipeline. Through consistent and meaningful touchpoints, you will help ensure that our donors feel informed, valued, and connected to the impact of their support.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of multi-channel fundraising campaigns including the establishment of goals, timelines, content strategy, audience segments, and follow-up plans.
  • Develop and execute targeted fundraising initiatives with the goal of increasing acquisition, retention and giving levels for donors giving up to $10,000 while contributing to pipelines for monthly, mid-level, major, and legacy giving.
  • Oversee and execute stewardship activities in accordance with NTBC’s stewardship framework to ensure donors receive timely, meaningful, and consistent engagement.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service, ensuring donors receive a responsive and exceptional experience throughout every interaction.
  • Collaborate with the Communications and Media Relations Manager to develop compelling, donor-centered fundraising materials and communications that reflect consistent brand messaging.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor information, activity, and records within Raiser’s Edge NXT.
Role Requirements
  • Relevant undergraduate degree, training or certification in a related discipline
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in fundraising or in a related field

  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments

  • Demonstrates sound judgement and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; knowledge of Adobe Creative an asset
  • Advanced experience working within a CRM (Raiser’s Edge NXT experience an asset)
  • Passion for the natural environment of BC
  • Must be legally allowed to work in Canada
  • Valid Driver's license (and a clean driving abstract) an asset
  • Available for occasional weekend or evening work
