About the Department:

The Fund Development department aims to develop and implement strategies to increase the funding income of Islamic Relief through fundraising initiatives and the acquisition and retention of donors, volunteers, and community supporters.

Job Purpose:
  • Support the fulfillment of organizational objectives related to community fundraising and volunteer initiatives, working directly under the Regional FD Manager.
  • Act as the point of contact and representative of IRC with regional volunteer teams.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Community Relations
    • Maintain and develop donor relationships and partnerships within the region.
    • Expand community outreach and increase new donor acquisition.
    • Manage stakeholder relationships through meetings, feedback, and collaboration.
    • Coordinate mosque and community relations, including organizing collections, distributing campaign materials, and setting up fundraisers.
    • Meet fundraising targets and ensure ROI with partners.
    • Formalize partnerships via MOUs or contracts.
    • Support stakeholders in fundraising activities.
    • Respond to inquiries related to regional activities.
    • Provide performance updates to Line Manager.
    • Utilize social media platforms to promote campaigns and activities.
  • Volunteers and Networking
    • Recruit, train, and manage regional volunteers.
    • Lead volunteer teams in planning and executing community and IRC events.
    • Assist with regional fundraising activities.
    • Promote and facilitate attendance at fundraising events.
    • Network at local and IRC events to build relationships and recruit volunteers.
  • Event Planning and Execution
    • Manage local events and represent IRC at external events.
    • Ensure availability of materials and equipment for events.
    • Handle logistics related to event materials and supplies.
Qualifications & Competencies:
  • Experience:
    • Relationship building with stakeholders.
    • Event and campaign coordination.
    • Supervising volunteers.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
    • Understanding of the local community.
    • Interpersonal and motivational skills.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Empathy and motivation aligned with organizational goals.
    • Numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Representation skills in diverse situations.
    • Proficiency with Google Suite, databases, and project management tools.
    • Strong organizational skills for planning and monitoring.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid local driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
    • Flexible work approach for events and functions.
    • Willingness to travel nationally at short notice.

Starting Salary: $58,500.00
