Title: Fund Development Associate
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday (occasional after hour flexibility is required)

Position Summary
The Fund Development Associate will play a key role in supporting the success of Sistering’s fund development activities, including donor relations, gift processing, event coordination, and communications. Reporting to the Manager of Fund Development and Communications, the Associate will help ensure smooth and effective fundraising operations that support Sistering’s mission.
Responsibilities
Donor Engagement & Stewardship:
- Process donations, generate tax receipts, and prepare personalized thank-you letters and acknowledgments
- Maintain and update donor records using CanadaHelps and other fundraising platforms
- Assist with prospect research to identify new individual, foundation, and corporate donors
- Support the development and distribution of donor stewardship materials including the collection, drafting, editing and designing all the content for Fund Development newsletters.
- Coordinate in-kind donations and ensure appropriate donor recognition
- Respond to donor inquiries and requests, providing a high standard of service
- Assist with the planning and execution of seasonal campaigns (e.g., Year-End Giving, Giving Tuesday, Monthly Giving)
- Support direct mail and email fundraising initiatives by preparing mailing lists, donor segments, and appeal content and materials
- Collaborate with the Fund Development team to gather content and metrics for appeals and reports
- Ensures that funders are thanked or mentioned on social media when appropriate
Event Planning & Third-Party Fundraising
- Support the organization and logistics of fundraising events (e.g., Food for Thought, Sistering Walk event, third-party events)
- Coordinate with community members and partners hosting fundraising events on Sistering’s behalf
- Provide planning support for Annual Donor and Volunteer event.
- Track event performance metrics and assist with post-event follow-up and reporting
- Collect and capture photographs at Sistering Fundraising events; maintain database of photos and assets
Administrative & Team Support
- Maintain accurate and organized fundraising files and documentation
- Coordinate with the Finance team to ensure timely donation reconciliation
- Work with each department to draft, design and produce the Sistering Annual Report
- Update and create website pages using WordPress as needed (financial & in-kind donations, fundraising events etc.)
- Provide the Manager with assistance with grant applications
- Assist with preparation of fundraising reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Provide general support to the Fund Development team as needed
Qualifications
Other Duties as Assigned
- 2–3 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit administration
- Experience with donor databases (CanadaHelps, Raiser’s Edge, or similar)
- Experience with using MailChimp and Canva
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) tax receipting guidelines
- Comfort working independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and anti-oppression practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with online fundraising platforms is an asset
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for fundraising events
- Graphic (Canva) and web design (WordPress) experience considered an asset.
Compensation
- $55,000 - $65,000 annually

Working Conditions
This position works in the office and community. Sistering is a 24/7 operation, fast paced, intense environment. There may be the risk of exposure to potentially unpredictable behaviours and situations. Sistering is a pet friendly facility and as such, employees can expect to be in the proximity of animals.
