Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Cook to support high-volume kitchen operations in Ontario. You will prepare, cook and plate meals, maintain mise en place, and ensure strict health and safety standards are met.

The role requires reliable teamwork, independent work, and strong communication. We value experience in restaurant or prep cooking, a recognized cooking school certificate, and a solid understanding of cooking methods and equipment.

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience in restaurant or prep kitchen.
• Food Safety Certification required.
• Certificate from a recognized cooking school.
• Strong knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• Accurate and fast execution of tasks.
• Familiar with industry best practices.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food as directed.
• Set up mise en place for high volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use per health policies.
• Label, date, store and rotate food.
• Communicate with operational departments.
• Report maintenance, equipment faults or accidents to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
