Position Summary
The Senior FinancialLead Analyst provides senior financial support and advice to the Director,Financial and Statistical Services, and the Finance department.
The positionsupports organizational financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financialperformance analysis, capital planning, and financial reporting activities. Therole provides financial insight, identifies emerging risks and opportunities,and supports leadership decision-making through the preparation andinterpretation of timely and accurate financial information.
Workingcollaboratively with Finance, Supply Chain, and operational leaders, the SeniorFinancial Lead Analyst strengthens financial accountability, supports resourceplanning, and contributes to the ongoing development and improvement offinancial processes and practices across Riverside Health Care.
Qualifications Required:
- Minimum of 3-yearFinance Diploma/Degree from a recognized College/University or currentlyenrolled in the CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) program at an equivalent level or workingtoward a certification
- Minimum of 5 years related and progressive finance experience, includingexperience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, orfinancial planning
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial information, identifytrends, and provide recommendations to support decision-making
- Experience supporting senior leadership with financial analysis, reporting,and planning activities would be an asset
- Experience in health care, public sector, or not-for-profit organizationswould be an asset

Core Responsibilities:
- Act as a keyfinancial resource to the Director, Financial and Statistical Services byproviding financial analysis, recommendations, and decision support.
- Support thedevelopment, coordination, and monitoring of organizational operating andcapital budgets.
- Lead financialplanning activities including budget preparation, forecasting, financialmodelling, and variance analysis.
- Analyze financialperformance, identify trends, risks, opportunities, and emerging financialpressures, and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Prepare financialreports, summaries, and briefing materials to support leadership, Board,committee, Ministry, and funding reporting requirements.
- Provide financialinsight related to operational priorities, resource allocation, sustainability,and service delivery decisions.
- Support theDirector in advancing financial accountability, process improvements, andeffective financial management practices.
- Coordinate withFinance team members to support timely completion of financial reporting,planning activities, and organizational priorities.
Specific Duties:
Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting
- Coordinate andsupport the annual operating budget process, including preparation, analysis,consolidation, and ongoing monitoring.
- Develop andmaintain forecasting tools and financial models to support financial planningand decision-making.
- Perform monthlyanalysis of financial results, including identification of significantvariances, trends, and financial pressures.
- Prepare financialcommentary and recommendations to support leadership review of financialperformance.
- Supportpreparation of Board reports, leadership reports, Ministry submissions, fundingreports, and other financial reporting requirements.
- Assist withyear-end financial processes, audit requirements, and preparation of supportingdocumentation.
- Provide financialanalysis related to operational efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainabilityopportunities.
Capital Planning & Funding Analysis
- Provide financialoversight and monitoring of capital projects including approved budgets,expenditures, commitments, forecasts, and funding requirements.
- Track capitalproject financial performance and provide reporting on project status, fundingutilization, and emerging pressures.
- Monitor alignmentof capital expenditures with approved funding sources and organizationalpriorities.
- Identify potentialfunding gaps, timing issues, and financial risks related to capitalinitiatives.
- Prepare financialanalysis and information to support leadership decision-making related tocapital investments.
- Analyze operatingexpenditure trends, spending patterns, and financial impacts to supporteffective resource management.
- Provide financialanalysis related to procurement activity, operating costs, and budgetperformance.
- Collaborate withSupply Chain and operational leaders to improve financial visibility andaccountability.
- Identifyopportunities for improved financial stewardship, efficiencies, and costmanagement.
Finance Process & Organizational Support
- Assist with the review, development, and enhancement of financial processes, controls,policies, and procedures.
- Support continuousimprovement initiatives within Finance to improve efficiency, accuracy, andaccountability.
- Assist withfinancial system improvements and reporting requirements from a financialperspective.
- Maintain strongworking knowledge of financial systems and reporting tools, including ORMED,Microsoft Excel, Word, and other applicable systems.
General Responsibilities:
- Carry out all workassignments in accordance with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, professional standards, funding requirements, and organizational policies,including requirements related to privacy, health care delivery, quality improvement,and financial accountability.
