Job summary

The TD Centre in Toronto, operated by Paladin Security, seeks a SOC Operator to monitor security systems and coordinate responses in real time. You will manage CCTV, access control, alarms, and incident escalation for a busy commercial property in Canada's financial district.

Ideal candidates bring a security license, First Aid/CPR Level C, and leadership with strong communication and report-writing abilities. Overtime is part of the 88-hour averaging agreement, and multiple shifts are available.

Qualifications

• Ontario Security License required and must be obtainable.
• First Aid & CPR Level C certification required.
• Emergency management certification preferred.
• Experience in supervision, dispatch, or SOC/OPS center.
• Strong leadership, communication, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to stay calm and handle incidents under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV, access control, alarms, and respond to incidents.
• Dispatch security personnel and coordinate responses.
• Receive and prioritize calls, alarms, and requests for assistance.
• Maintain incident logs and reports with accuracy.
• Escalate incidents per protocols to supervisors or clients.
• Conduct video investigations and support reviews as needed.
• Communicate with on-site teams via radio/phone.
• Track incidents to resolution and ensure follow-up.
• Identify risks and mitigate proactively; support emergency procedures.

Job Overview:

The TD Centre is one of Toronto's premier commercial properties, located in the heart of the financial district, supporting a large population of tenants, employees, and visitors each day. The Security Operations Centre (SOC) plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of the property through real-time monitoring, coordination, and incident response.

As a SOC Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring security systems, coordinating with on-site teams, and responding to incidents as they arise. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment while supporting the overall safety of the property.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor CCTV, access control, alarm, and other security systems to identify and respond to incidents in real time.
• Dispatch security personnel and coordinate responses throughout the TD Centre property.
• Receive, assess, and prioritize incoming calls, alarms, and requests for assistance.
• Maintain accurate incident reports, logs, and daily activity records.
• Escalate incidents to supervisors, emergency services, or client contacts in accordance with established protocols.
• Conduct video investigations and support incident reviews as required.
• Maintain communication with on-site security teams via radio and telephone.
• Track incidents through to resolution and ensure proper follow-up.
• Identify potential risks or unusual activity and take proactive steps to mitigate concerns.
• Support emergency response procedures, including fire alarms, medical incidents, and building emergencies.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with site procedures, client expectations, and company standards.

Prerequisites:

• Ability to obtain a Security License in the Province of Ontario.
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification from a WSIB-approved provider.
• Emergency Management Certification.
• Crisis Intervention Training.
• Minimum three (3) years of security experience in a supervisory, dispatch, team lead, or operations centre capacity within a large-scale commercial or industrial environment.
• Proficiency with site-specific security infrastructure, including Lenel OnGuard access control, KeyWatcher key management systems, and Avigilon Control Center (ACC) surveillance software.
• Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, report writing, and documentation skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effectively manage complex incidents under pressure.
• Applicants who do not possess these certifications may opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB) certification program prior to onboarding training to meet position requirements.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid, as it is a pre-employment requirement; however, Paladin will cover the cost of certification with a six-month commitment to the position and availability.
