Job Skills / Requirements

Working on assigned shifts, you will work full-time shifts providing proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents. You will be required to write reports, investigate routine incidents, and respond to coded emergencies quickly and efficiently. You should display excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people under stress or in need of medical assistance. It is essential that you are physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periods. You will be driving and patrolling the hospital grounds in a marked company patrol vehicle, responding to incidents on hospital property.

• Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement – calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly
• Hours: Monday – Friday 2230-0630hrs
• Payrate: $18.00/HR
• Posting Date: May 9, 2025

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol the premises to ensure safety and security.
• Perform regular security checks of the property, including parking areas, entrances, exits, and other designated areas.
• Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or unlawful activities.
• Control access at entry points and ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises.
• Respond to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies and take appropriate actions as needed.
• Assist in the enforcement of company policies and procedures, including monitoring and reporting suspicious activities.
• Report incidents, accidents, or security breaches promptly to management.
• Complete daily logs and security reports, documenting unusual occurrences.
• Provide assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors as needed.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and security equipment, ensuring proper functioning.
• Cooperate with law enforcement, emergency services, and other authorities when necessary.
• Ensure safety equipment is maintained and ready for use.

Prerequisites

• Valid G Class Driver's Licence with 3 years driving experience.
• Driver abstract with no more than 2 minor convictions, no major convictions, and no more than 6 demerits in the last three years.
• Standard First Aid, CPR Level C.
• Valid Ontario Security Licence.
• Knowledge of Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health Act.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Punctuality, reliability, tact, and diplomacy.
• Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) or willingness to complete Paladin's training prior to onboarding.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

• Complete online courses from Paladin Learning Management System, including Driver's Licence Course, Mental Health Awareness, and Supervisor 1.
