Overview

Are you passionate about storytelling and connecting with the Chinese community in B.C. and Canada? Rogers TV is seeking a Mandarin Host for a six-month contract to join our OMNI News Mandarin team in Vancouver. This role involves hosting daily Mandarin newscasts, developing compelling stories, and engaging with the community.

Responsibilities

1. Host the daily Mandarin newscast.
2. Research, pitch, and present stories relevant to the Chinese community.
3. Monitor news sources and respond to breaking news.
4. Participate in community events representing OMNI News.
5. Work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Qualifications

1. Fluent in written and spoken Mandarin.
2. Understanding of Chinese culture and community needs in B.C.
3. Knowledge of B.C. and Canadian news impacting Chinese communities.
4. Strong communication, storytelling, and news judgment skills.
5. Experience in journalism or related field is preferred.
6. Degree or diploma in Broadcast Journalism or equivalent experience is an asset.
