Job Description:

The Pet Valu family of stores includes Pet Valu, Paulmac's Pet Food, Bosley's, Tisol, and Total Pet. Together, we are one of the largest retail operations in North America dedicated to providing families with food and supplies for dogs, cats, companion birds, wild birds, fish, reptiles, and small animals.

Job Overview:

Keyholders ensure consistent store operations, allowing us to dedicate quality time with our customers. They recommend the best products and services to promote healthy, playful lives for pets. They share accountability for driving profit and supporting our growth as the Devoted Pet Lover’s life-cycle partner. Keyholders assist with all store operations and represent their store within the community. They prioritize Safety, Compassion, Expertise, and Efficiency while embodying our Core Beliefs.

This position pays $17.90 hourly.

What you do:

• Cashier and customer sales
• Preparing merchandise orders, banking, and other paperwork
• Restocking small items (under 10 lbs.) including pet supplies and household items
• Performing store maintenance such as sweeping and dusting
• Unloading deliveries of pet food and supplies (up to 50 lbs.) and stocking them
• Opening and closing the store following company procedures
• When the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager are absent, assigning daily goals and tasks to team members
• Performing other duties as required

What you bring:

• At least 2 years of retail or customer service experience
• Knowledge of POS systems
• Outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Reliable transportation to and from the store
• A valid driver’s license may be required
• Previous Key Holder experience is an asset
