Job description

The Peace River School Division is seeking applications for a Full-Time (1.00 f.t.e.) Humanities Teacher at Fairview High School. This position will commence on August 27, 2025. The initial teaching assignment will include Humanities. Schedule: Monday to Friday.

Fairview High School offers complete programming for grades seven through twelve. Our school's programming covers both academic and non-academic courses coupled with a large variety of electives. Junior high students are offered Industrial Arts, Home Economics, and French as well as Art and Computer programs. Fairview High School is fortunate to have partnered with Northwestern Polytechnic (NWP) - Fairview campus to offer the senior high students the opportunity to use the new fitness center in Phys. Ed and Sports Performance.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold or be eligible for a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
  • Experience and/or training in teaching junior high level grades
  • Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and parents
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and educational assistants to ensure student success
  • Proven ability to differentiate lessons to support students’ achievement
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • A keen understanding of assessment practices
  • The ability to use technology to support learning in the classroom

  • Provide an acceptable current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (please note, record check must be less than six (6) months old to date of application)

This teaching position falls under the Collective Agreement between the Alberta Teachers' Association and the Peace River School Division.

Annual Salary Range: $62,702 to $105,996 (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement).
