Job summary

Paladin Security – Lennox & Addington County General Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Healthcare Security Guard to safeguard patients, staff and facilities during continental night shifts (1900-0700) at the Lennox & Addington site. The role emphasizes proactive patrols, incident response, de-escalation and adherence to hospital policies.

Applicants must have healthcare security experience, First Aid/CPR, English fluency, Ontario Security License, and MOAB/UoF certifications or be willing to

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months healthcare security experience required.
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C from an approved source.
• Proof of double COVID-19 vaccination.
• Ontario Security License required.
• Fluency in English (oral and written).
• Ability to complete extended patrols and sit/stand for long shifts.
• UoF and MOAB certifications or eligible to train.

Responsibilities

• Proactive and reactive security patrols of main site and outlying facilities.
• Respond to incidents and intervene when needed.
• De-escalation and conflict management.
• Investigate routine incidents and document findings.
• Parking and by-law enforcement where applicable.
• Enforce hospital policies and procedures.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Site Description: The Lennox and Addington County General Hospital’s emphasis on general medicine and general surgery reflects its role in providing core services. Specialists from Kingston regularly hold clinics at the hospital. The range and scope of those clinics continue to expand as the hospital grows.Emergency services, operating 24 hours a day, see in excess of 26,000 patientsper year.

Position: Full-Time Healthcare Security Guard - Lennox & Addington County General Hospital

Schedule: Continental Nights Only, 1900-0700

Payrate: $19.00/hour

Job Description:

• Additional Duties as Assigned

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 6 months healthcare security experience required
• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved source)
• Proof of (minimum) double COVID-19 vaccination
• A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)
• Ability to complete extensive patrols, to sit/stand for up to 12 hours per shift
• Ability to work alone and self-motivated
• Fluency in English (oral and written)
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills is required
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
• Legally authorized to work in Canada

Valid Ontario Security License
