Job summary

Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) is hiring Educational Assistants for a 1.0 FTE, permanent full-time position (35 hours per week) to support students across academics, behavior, social and life skills within a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include a university degree or two-year college diploma in a human services field, plus Behaviour Management Systems training, strong communication and teamwork abilities. OMERS pension applies for new hires.

Qualifications

• Requires a relevant university degree or a two-year college diploma in human services.
• Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) training is required, with strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Support students to achieve success in academic, behavior, social, life skills and co-op settings.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to aid learning and development.
• Provide assistance for toileting, lifting, positioning and mobility as required.
• Rotate through the school to assist students across multiple grade levels.
