Job summary

Simcoe County District School Board in Ontario is seeking Educational Assistants for a 1.0 FTE temporary full-time position (35 hours/week). EAs support students to achieve success in academics, behavior, social and life skills as part of a multidisciplinary team, creating a safe and supportive learning environment.

Positions may be physically demanding, including toileting, lifting, positioning and mobility assistance; EAs may rotate through schools to meet varied needs and grade levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or college diploma in human services or related field.
• Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) training required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; team player.

Responsibilities

• Support students to achieve success in academic, behavioral, social, life skills and co-op contexts as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to learning development and student integration by maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
• May rotate through schools to meet the needs of students across different grades.
