Riverstone Retirement Communities seeks a Recreation Activities Coordinator in Ottawa to plan, organize, promote and evaluate activities for residents. You will work to create engaging programs that improve wellbeing and social connection among seniors.

You will animate individual and group activities, encourage residents to participate in activities of their choice, assist during activity time and keep attendance records.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Recreation and Leisure Services or equivalent education/experience.

• Encourage volunteer and family member participation in activities;
• Participate in departmental staff meetings;
• Participate in in-service training programs;
• In collaboration with the Recreations Manager, participate in a three-month probationary evaluation and annually thereafter;
• Is aware and endeavors to respect and promote Resident Rights and Responsibilities;
• Adhere to all policies and procedures of the recreation department.
