Job summary

Stripe in Toronto, Canada, is seeking engineers to impact payments at a global scale. You will help expand our product suite and the supporting infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet evolving user needs.

Responsibilities include building next-gen Stripe products, debugging critical production issues, mentoring peers, and driving scalable features while improving internal standards, tooling, and processes in a hybrid team.

Qualifications

• 2–10+ years of industry software engineering experience (does not include internships or co-ops).
• Strong coding skills in any programming language.
• Ability to thrive with a high level of autonomy and responsibility and an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Experience with large-scale financial tracking systems.
• Good understanding and practical knowledge in cloud-based services (e.g., AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, GraphQL, gRPC).

Responsibilities

• Build and design the next generation of Stripe products to meet high-growth needs.
• Debug and solve production issues across services and stack levels.
• Mentor engineers to help them grow.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to build new features at large scale and improve internal tooling and processes.
• Work effectively in a distributed and hybrid team with open communication.
