This role combines core front-end and back-end e-commerce software engineering with standard e-commerce practices including payment gateway integrations, order and inventory system connectivity, web analytics tracking, site speed optimization, and conversion rate optimization.

In this role you will:

  • Continuously monitor and improve Core Web Vitals, page load speeds, and technical efficiency using best practices such as code splitting, asset compression, lazy loading, and caching strategies to ensure high-traffic stability.
  • Implement and manage web tracking infrastructure (Google Tag Manager, GA4), advertising/retargeting pixels, and third-party marketing integrations to guarantee accurate data collection and attribution.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to design, build, and deploy A/B test variations, custom promotional landing pages, and interactive site features designed to improve user journey metrics and drive conversion rates.
  • Ensure site UI/UX is fully responsive across mobile, tablet, and desktop environments, and strictly compliant with accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1 AA) and enterprise technical SEO principles.
  • Conduct regular site maintenance, security audits, plugin testing, and software updates. Rapidly diagnose and resolve technical defects, broken workflows, or data sync errors to maximize site uptime and revenue reliability.
  • Advanced technical proficiency in modern web stacks (JavaScript/ES6+, Liquid/HTML/CSS, REST/GraphQL APIs, Node.js/modern frameworks).
  • Work alongside E-Commerce Managers, Site Merchandisers, Digital Marketers, and UX/UI Designers to support seasonal campaigns, promotional rollouts, and feature launches.
  • Conduct multi-device and cross-browser testing, code reviews, and post-deployment monitoring to maintain seamless user experiences across all digital touchpoints.

  • Working knowledge of enterprise ERP/PIM/OMS system integrations using REST, GraphQL, and webhooks (e.g., Fulfill.io, NetSuite, SAP).
  • Experience working with high-volume Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) or enterprise retail brands is an asset.
