Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in Mississauga is seeking a Full Stack Application Developer to lead analysis and programming of enterprise applications within the Technology team.

You will design, develop and implement complex systems, align with cross-functional teams, and drive improvements. Responsibilities include building React/Angular front-ends with Java/Spring Boot back-ends, microservices, TDD, performance optimization, and integrating Oracle and MongoDB.

Job description

The Full Stack Application Developer is responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and development of complex systems usingSpring, Spring Boot and Spring Cloud, React/Angular ,Workflow technologies.

• Architect and implementmicroservices-based solutionswith focus on scalability, reliability and performance.

• Apply TDDandtest-first development practices across all development stages.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design and deliver new features.

• Guide the integration and optimization ofOracle andMongoDB in high-performance environments.

• Ensure high quality through effectivecode reviews, static code analysisand performance optimization.

• Mentor and guide junior developers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, advocating for their adoption where appropriate.

Required Skills:

• Strong-level proficiency in React.js: Demonstrated experience building complex, dynamic, and performant user interfaces. Deep understanding of React ecosystem, state management (e.g., Redux, Context API), and component lifecycle.

• Strong proficiency in Node.js: Experience designing and implementing scalable RESTful APIs and microservices.

• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot: Proven experience in building enterprise-grade back-end applications and services.

• Proven experience in designing and building complex dynamic rendering frameworks/systems. Understanding of server-side rendering (SSR), client-side rendering (CSR), and hydration techniques.

• Solid understanding and hands-on experience withMicroservices Architectureand best practices.

• Proficient inHibernate, JPAand working with bothrelational (Oracle)and NoSQL(MongoDB)databases

• Experience withRedisor equivalent for caching and performance optimization.

• Proven experience withTest-Driven Development (TDD)andSift-Left testing strategies.

• Hands-on experience withtest automation tools/frameworkssuch asJunit, Mockito, REST Assured, CucumberorSelenium.

• String understanding ofapplication performance,monitoring and optimization techniques.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to lead complex development tasks.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure toAPI Gateways, Service Discoveryand Distributed Tracing

• Exposure to Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines,
  either on-premise or public cloud (i.e., Tekton, Harness, Jenkins, etc.).

• Familiarity with DevOps Practices and containerization tools likeDockerand orchestration withKubernetes.

• Experience withcode quality tools(e.g. SonarQube, Checkmarks)

• Understanding of security best practices for backend development (OAUth2, JWT, Spring Security)

• Proven leadership and team collaboration skills.

• String communication and stakeholder management.

• Ability to balance technical depth with business priorities.

• Passion for high-quality, clean and maintainable code.
