Job summary

Public Health Ontario is seeking a Payroll Specialist to provide payroll and benefits processing for hourly, salary, part-time, and union/non-union staff. You will ensure payrolls are completed on time in accordance with policies, collective agreements, and applicable legislation.

The role involves auditing outputs, resolving discrepancies, and supporting year-end activities such as T4s and EHT. Collaboration with People Experience, Finance, and external partners is essential.

Qualifications

• Three years of community college or an undergraduate degree.
• PCP certification is required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in processing a full cycle payroll.
• Experience processing unionized payroll in a multi-functional environment.
• Proficiency with ADP-Workforce Now and Workday; advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly, salary, part-time, and union/non-union staff.
• Review payroll inquiries and escalate as needed with guidance from policies and agreements.
• Audit payroll outputs prior to transmission to ensure accuracy.
• Respond to discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Assist with year-end tasks including T4s and EHT reconciliation.
• Coordinate with HR and Pension providers on deductions and compliance.
