Job summary

McKay Métis Contracting, headquartered in the Fort McKay Métis community, is seeking a Fuel Truck Driver to join the client site in Fort McMurray, AB. The role involves driving, fueling operations, and ensuring safety protocols are followed on all tasks.

Daily bussing to the site is provided, and the shift pattern features 5 nights on/5 days off in a 12‑hour rotation. Ideal candidates will have Class 3 with air brake, potentially Class 1, and 3–5 years of commercial driving experience with

Qualifications

• Class 3 with air brake license is required.
• Class 1 license is an asset.
• 3–5 years of commercial driving, hauling fuel or similar.
• Knowledge of fuel and lubricants is a strong asset.
• Certifications: CSO, H2S Alive, TDG, First Aid, WHMIS.

Responsibilities

• Drive, haul, and dispense gasoline, fuel oil, lubricating oil, or LPG to clients.
• Adhere to safety procedures for hauling and dispensing fuel.
• Clean, lubricate, and refill equipment tanks; perform pre/post checks.
• Oversee equipment condition and complete logs and checks.
• Plan travel routes and monitor vehicle performance and maintenance.

Accountabilities:

• AdheretoallSafetyProceduresandPracticespertainingtohaulinganddispensingfuel.


• Cleanandlubricateequipmentandrefillequipmenttanks.


• Overseeconditionofequipmentandconductpre/post-checksonequipment.


• CompletedailyJobHazardAssessments,FuelLogsandTruckLogsasrequired


• Readsgaugesormetersandrecordquantityloaded


• Plantravelschedulesandroutes


• Monitorvehicleperformanceandmechanicalfitness


• AdheretoCompanypoliciesandworkrequirements


• Monitorequipmentandindicatorstodetectevidenceofoperatingproblems


• Completeallmaintenancetaskstoensureequipment,housekeeping,andworkareasare kept to best standards and safe working conditions

• Reportanyequipmentdamages,maintenancerequirements,anddelaystosupervisor

Requirements and Competencies:
