Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods Inc. is seeking a FSQA Team Leader at the Heritage facility in Ontario to drive food safety programs and audits. You will lead QA Process Leaders, oversee HACCP, GFSI/BRC, and cross-functional QA activities to ensure regulatory compliance and product quality across shifts.

You’ll plan staffing, deliver training, support third‑party audits, and partner with Operations, Maintenance and Sanitation to continuous improvement. A B.Sc.

Qualifications

• Post secondary education in chemistry or microbiology is an asset.
• Supervisory experience in FSQA within food manufacturing, preferably unionized.
• Experience in basic food chemistry, microbiology, allergen controls, auditing, GFSI/BRC, HACCP.
• Ability to manage and build a team independently.
• Ability to collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and Sanitation for efficiency.
• Knowledge of quality systems and inspection programs.
• Detail and results oriented.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel/Word).

Responsibilities

• Supervise QA Process Leaders to ensure tasks are efficient and meet business needs.
• Administer Quality and Food Safety programs and protocols.
• Plan QA staffing according to production demands and vacations.
• Hire direct reports and onboard effectively with Employee Services.
• Deliver training including WHMIS, SDS, micro and chemistry basics.
• Participate in cross-functional SOP development and updates.
• Provide HACCP and FSQMS updates and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare for third-party audits and coach managers for audits.
