  • Quality tools like PMO, Regulatory, and/or Dairy experience is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Product Quality - measure key quality characteristics of the process.
  • Process Management – inspect and audit processes and products to ensure conformance to standards.
  • Food Safety Incident Control - investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead plant audit programs such as FSRA, HACCP verification, GMPs.
  • Support training and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain testing equipment calibration and testing procedures.

Education

Provide technical support to plant operations, the FSQ engineer and manager in day-to-day plant floor activities. Provide leadership in the areas of Food Safety and Quality Management with an emphasis on consumer requirements, continuous product quality improvement and productivity improvement.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESMonitoring Product Quality - measure key quality characteristics of the process.Maintaining Testing Equipment in a Functional and Calibrated Order - responsible for keeping all test machines used for monitoring quality calibrated and properly maintained. This can involve using test standards to check readings and adjust tools accordingly.Process Management – inspect and audit processes and products to ensure they conform to the company's food safety and quality standards.Food Safety Incident Control - investigate food safety incidents, collaborate with Production, Sanitation and Maintenance to establish corrective actions and implement those actions to provide product and brand protection.Supplier Conformance – prepare raw material acceptance reports to ensure conformance to standard.Continuous Improvement - Support plant initiatives on root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action activitiesConduct food safety and quality inspections, verifications, and monitoring activities.Support environmental monitoring, sampling, and follow-up actions.Investigate quality or food safety concerns and assist with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.Support product traceability, quality holds, positive release, and documentation requirements.Partner with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, Engineering, and other teams to resolve issues and sustain standards.Verify compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, sanitation requirements, procedures, and plant standards.Record and communicate results accurately using applicable quality and manufacturing systems.Support training, process verification, trials, and continuous improvement initiatives.Lab cleaning and maintenance as neededSupport plant tests, capability studies and start-ups, as needed, including additional analytical test requestsApproval of product against specificationsData entry into MQIS (statistical analysis database)Lead execution of plant label verification programPartner with team leaders and technicians to influence quality decisions and support productionAssist in development, maintenance, and execution of plant audit programs to assure effective execution of quality and food safety programs, such as Quality Index, FSRA (Food Safety and Regulatory Assessment), HACCP verification, Integrated Pest Management, GMPsSanitation responsibilitiesExecute environmental monitoring swabbing in assigned areas. Follow up on mitigation and vectoring sitesControl of documentation and document review to support Preventive Control RequirementsOwnership and responsibility for tasks, programs and high-quality work outputStrong organizational skills with an ability to handle multiple prioritiesWillingness and ability to be flexible and adapt to changing job requirementsProvide leadership and support to the manufacturing teams to effectively resolve product quality and food safety issues. Provide technical and system analysis support for root-cause investigations and foreign material contamination incidentsSensory panel participation and program supportLead and execute assigned programs to support the Food Safety Management SystemAbility to work all shifts (monthly rotating shift)Additional duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology or related field.1+ years of experience in manufacturing in a Quality role would be an asset.Demonstrated decision making, initiative and leadership abilities.Problem Solving Expertise (YY, Fishbone, Intervention Report, FI, etc) is a plusQuality tools like PMO, Regulatory, and/or Dairy experience is a plusAbility to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environmentHighly motivated self-starter with strong organization and prioritization skillsAssertive, self-confident, and willing to offer opinions and insights with a teamAbility to influence, develop, and motivate peersDesire to work cross functionally with all plant functions to support plant operationsPREFFERED QUALIFICATIONSStrong manufacturing background and a strong knowledge of Quality and Food Safety systems.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to experiment, assess risks and make data-based recommendations and decisions.Strong productive discourse and conflict management skillsELIGIBILITYApplicants must meet minimum age qualifications in the country in which the job is located.
