Job summary

Active Start Childcare in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a dedicated FSCD/ Casual Educator to provide one-on-one support and develop engaging programming for a child within our daycare program. The role operates afternoons on school days, with potential for additional casual hours.

Ideal candidates are fluent in English, reliable, adaptable, and possess Alberta Child Care certification level 1, current criminal record check with vulnerable sector search, and first aid certification.

Qualifications

• Must possess Alberta Child Care certification level 1
• Proven experience as Educator or Teacher is preferred
• Experience working with children with varied abilities is advantageous
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Providing one-on-one support for a specific child within the childcare program.
• Creating and implementing engaging programming tailored to the child’s interests and needs.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety within the environment.
• Leading and supporting the child in integrated learning and recreational activities.
• Actively supervising and engaging with the child while ensuring their well-being.
• Cultivating positive relationships with the child, their family, and colleagues.
• Adhering to Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Regulations and Active Start's policies.
