Neighbourly Pharmacy is hiring a Front Store Clerk/Pharmacy Assistant in Oxbow, Saskatchewan. You will greet customers, handle inquiries, stock shelves, and support pharmacy operations under supervision of licensed staff.

The role requires accurate cash handling, strong customer service, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Pharmacy knowledge and professional appearance are important; training provided.

Qualifications

• Accurate cash handling and strong customer service skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear, courteous communication and strong product knowledge.
• Experience in merchandising, retail, or cashiering is an asset.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software Kroll (training provided).
• Mature, cooperative attitude with professional appearance, including name tag.
• Criminal Record Check required.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, friendly customer service by greeting customers and handling inquiries.
• Operate the cash register, stock shelves, tidy aisles, and support front-store tasks.
• Ensure store cleanliness and organization, including light janitorial duties and displays.
• Follow store policies on security, shoplifting, lottery, and CBO ticket handling.
• Monitor cash levels, anticipate change needs, and request pickups when necessary.
• Develop product knowledge, stay informed about items, and maintain displays.
• Merchandise products using labels, rotation, and facing techniques.
• Manage allocated sections and notify buyers of out-of-stock items.
• Assist in inventory maintenance and reordering processes.
• Support seasonal displays and promotional setups.
• Handle difficult customer situations with tact and escalated complaints.
• Report customer feedback and concerns to the store manager.
• Remain productive between customer interactions.
• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care.
• Greet customers and answer phone calls professionally.
• Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under supervision of a pharmacist/technician.
• Count, measure, and package medications accurately.
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory, rotate stock.
• Keep pharmacy area clean; dispose of expired meds per regulations.
• Perform clerical tasks and assist with insurance claims and transfers.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
• Complete miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Front Store Manager or Store Operator/Pharmacy Manager

Qualifications

• Accurate cash handling and strong customer service skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience within a pharmacy is an asset (on-the-job training will be provided)
• Clear, courteous communication and strong product knowledge
• Experience in merchandising, retail, or cashiering is an asset
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software Kroll (training will be provided)
• Mature, cooperative attitude with a professional appearance, including proper grooming and name tag
• Criminal Record Check required

Schedule

• 40 hours per week.
• The store is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
• 8-hour shift
