Job description

Here’s What You’ll Be Doing :
  1. Provide front-line support for a 24/5.5 production environment of FX systems for internal and external clients, including incident and problem resolution, maintenance, and deployment of application software.
  2. Ensure all production incidents, service requests, and problems are logged and resolved in the bank's systems.
  3. Use SQL/KDB queries to provide ad-hoc information to stakeholders and assist in problem resolution.
  4. Operate as part of a shift rotation, covering hours from 07:00 to 18:30, including some bank holidays.
  5. Perform weekend application upgrades, configurations, and patching across multiple environments as required.
  6. Develop and maintain responsive web applications for banking and equity trading platforms.
  7. Collaborate with backend developers to integrate RESTful APIs and WebSocket connections.
  8. Implement complex UI components displaying financial data, such as real-time stock tickers and charts.
  9. Optimize web applications for speed and scalability, especially in high-frequency trading environments.
  10. Work with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes into high-quality code.
  11. Test and debug applications to ensure reliability, security, and compliance with industry regulations.
Here's What You Need :
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (CS, Maths, Physics, Finance) with strong communication skills.
  • 5-10 years of experience in frontend development, preferably in the financial sector.
  • Knowledge of financial services, banking, equity markets, trading systems, market data feeds, and regulations.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs, WebSocket protocols, and backend integration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Skills :
  • Experience with FX or Equities low latency/electronic trading systems.
  • Support/development experience for a trading desk, ideally in a tier 1 investment bank or hedge fund.
  • Skills in system engineering, UNIX/Linux, networking, query languages (KDB/Q/SQL), and programming languages (Java, C++, Python).
  • Understanding of ITIL and production management concepts.
