A leading company is seeking a Senior Front End Designer specializing in evidence-based UX/UI design. This role involves developing user-centered digital services within an agile environment, requiring strong design skills and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The position offers a primarily remote work arrangement with quarterly in-person meetings in Edmonton.

Must Have skills
4+ years’ experience
Front End Designer designing and enhancing digital services via web and other channels
Developing UX artifacts (scenarios, storyboards, wireframes, flows, interactive prototypes)
Working in a cross-functional product team within an Agile environment
Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG ) and accessibility best practices
Proficiency in human-centered design and design thinking methodologies
Hands-on experience with modern front-end design tools ( Axure, Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma , etc.)
Experience building and maintaining component libraries / design systems
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to justify and articulate design decisions
Proven ability to explore multiple design solutions via sketches, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
Production design experience for web, mobile, and complex enterprise applications
Responsibilities
Develop creative, evidence-based front-end design solutions aligned with corporate standards and design systems
Create and iterate UX artifacts; wireframes, prototypes, design pattern libraries, style guides, and build-ready specifications
Plan, conduct, and report on design research and usability testing; translate findings into actionable design recommendations
Provide justifiable design decisions to align project teams, program areas, and senior management
Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, demos, retrospectives) and backlog refinement
Analyze and recommend accessibility improvements to ensure compliance with applicable standards

Duration- 12 months
Extension- Up to 24 months
Hours- 36.25 hours / week (7.25 hours / day)
Location- Remote (Edmonton, AB; quarterly in-person meetings)
Work arrangement : Primarily remote; quarterly on-site collaboration in Edmonton; occasional Alberta travel for field research (cost to consultant)
