Job summary

Hwy 52 Beef Producers Ltd near Stirling, AB is seeking a permanent full-time cattle handler. You will process cattle, vaccinate, tag, and record weights, while sorting animals for marketing and moving them safely within the feedlot.

You will assist with bedding, pens, and equipment, follow safety SOPs, and maintain daily communication with the feedlot manager and staff, contributing to a reliable team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience or interest in cattle handling and herd health is preferred.
• Basic computer skills and reliable, safety-conscious work habits are important.
• Weekend availability may be required on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Process cattle including vaccination, implants, ear tags, and weight records.
• Sort cattle for marketing and move them safely within the feedlot.
• Assist with bedding, pen maintenance, and equipment upkeep.
• Follow all safety procedures and communicate with the team daily.

What You'll Do:

• Process cattle: induction, re-handling, vaccinations, implants, ear tags, and weight recording
• Sort cattle for marketing and move them safely within the feedlot
• Assist with bedding cattle
• Maintain pens, equipment, and water bowls
• Follow all safety and standard operating procedures
• Communicate daily with feedlot manager, feed truck driver, and occasionally office staff or contractors

• Basic computer skills and effective communication

Requirements:

• High school diploma (asset)
• Agriculture or feedlot experience (asset)
• Class 5 driver's license
• Weekend availability at times

Working Conditions:

Outdoor work in all weather, generally 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (hours may vary). Dress appropriately for conditions.
