Food Basics, part of METRO, is seeking a Front End Clerk in Ontario to greet customers, scan items, handle payments and support loyalty programs. The role is part-time and unionized, with a starting hourly wage of 16.60 CAD, and higher offers possible based on experience and knowledge.

The team emphasizes customer service, accuracy, and a clean, safe checkout area; flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays are required.

Formación

• Retail experience is an asset.
• High attention to detail and basic numeracy.
• Basic computer and register skills are an asset.
• Able to stand for extended periods.
• Must be available to work flexible shifts which may include nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsabilidades

• Greet customers warmly as they enter the store.
• Address customer inquiries and assist with locating products.
• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
• Scan items quickly and accurately.
• Process various forms of payment (cash, credit/debit cards, gift cards).
• Process returned items.
• Provide receipts and any necessary change.
• Offer assistance with loyalty programs or coupons.
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer.
• Balance the cash register at the end of the shift.
• Keep the checkout area clean and organized.
• Follow store policies and procedures to ensure safety and security.
• Report spills, hazards, or equipment issues to management.
• Work with other team members to ensure store operations run smoothly.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments.
• Assist team members with put aways/returns.
