Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Professional - Reception / Front Desk in Edmonton, Alberta. This part-time role provides a highly visible security presence, welcoming tenants, visitors, and staff while maintaining safety and professional conduct.

The successful candidate will hold a valid AB Security Guard License, First Aid/CPR, and at least one year of security and customer service experience, with strong communication and incident-reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Valid AB Security Guard License required.
• First Aid/CPR Certification required.
• Minimum 1 year security guard experience.
• Minimum 1 year of customer service/front desk experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional front desk security and reception services.
• Greet and meet employees, visitors, contractors, and guests.
• Verify visitors and follow visitor management and access control procedures.
• Monitor and control access to the facility with a high level of customer service.
• Receive, accept, and appropriately direct deliveries, packages, couriers, and contractors.
• Maintain accurate visitor, delivery, and security records.
• Monitor CCTV cameras and report suspicious activity or security incidents.
• Conduct regular security checks and inspections of designated areas.
• Check the MDF room and server room every four hours as required.
• Record inspection results and report any unusual conditions or security issues.
• Respond professionally to security incidents, emergencies, alarms, and unusual activity.
• Follow site-specific post orders and client requirements.
• Assist employees and visitors with general questions and directions.
• Maintain a professional and welcoming appearance at the reception desk.
• Use computers and security systems to complete reports and logs.
• Complete daily activity and incident reports promptly.
• Perform other security and front desk duties as assigned.
