Job summary

Concord Hospitality is seeking a Front Desk Agent at our Calgary Downtown property. You will be the hub of the hotel, delivering proactive, friendly service and ensuring guest satisfaction from check-in to check-out.

Ideal candidates bring customer service experience in hospitality, strong communication, teamwork, and a commitment to safety while handling reservations and guest requests with professionalism.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a customer service role in a hospitality operation or similar sized hotel property.
• A Hospitality or Tourism program graduate or degree holder.
• Someone with an outstanding work ethic, reliability, punctuality and approachable demeanor, and a strong commitment to Safety.
• Someone who places priority on providing guests with the best possible experiences, going above and beyond to ensure total satisfaction and guest loyalty.
• An exceptional problem-solver, knowing how to troubleshoot and resolve situations efficiently.
• Able to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Check guests in and out efficiently and in a friendly manner.
• Post guest charges and compute guest bills, collecting payment following cash handling procedures.
• Handle guest mail and messages per established procedures.
• Be knowledgeable in Marriott Bonvoy rewards program and promotions.
• Develop knowledge of hotel associates, room locations, rates, amenities, and selling strategies.
• Take reservation requests and answer switchboard per standards.

OUR ROLE

We are in search of a warm, friendly, courteous, and professional Front Desk Agent. Working at the front desk means you are the hub of the hotel. Your role is key to the overall experience the guests will have. Your keen sense of being proactive, responsive and caring will make all the difference. Key accountabilities include:

Always provide the highest quality of service to our guests and associates alike, setting a shining example for our team.

Promptly and effectively deal with guest issues and requests.

Check guests in and out efficiently and in a friendly manner.

Post guest charges and compute guest bills, collecting payment and making change for hotel guests following all cash handling procedures as required by Concord Hospitality.

Handle guest mail and messages per established procedures.

Be knowledgeable in Marriott Bonvoy rewards program and promotions.

Develop a thorough knowledge of hotel associates, room locations, room rates, amenities, and selling strategies.

Take reservation requests efficiently.

Answer switchboard in accordance with standards of proper telephone etiquette.

Block rooms and handle special requests.

Keep lobby and desk area clean and presentable.

Offer and properly handle requests for wake-up calls.

Open and close shift; making cash drops.

Communicate with incoming staff and management by logging pertinent information in the pass on log.

Have thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.

Endeavor to work in a unified and collaborative way -- one that fosters teamwork.

Follow all safety and security policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions.

YOUR STORY

Physically able to frequently stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, crouch, and lift or carry objects up to 40 pounds or more.
