Job summary

The Bishop Strachan School is seeking a passionate French Teacher to join our school. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of the French language and a commitment to fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment.

You will teach a full course load, prepare lesson plans, differentiate instruction, participate in co-curricular activities, and integrate technology to enhance student learning. Communication with parents and a commitment to inclusive education are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have an Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certificate preferably with teaching qualifications in French
• Intermediate/Senior teaching qualifications
• A passion for aligning educational research with classroom practice
• Strong proficiency in Google Suite; knowledge of Brightspace an asset
• A growth mindset of continuous improvement and learning
• Culturally competent with a positive attitude toward cultural uniqueness, as well as a readiness to accept and respect others
• Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment for your students, with families and your colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with parents about all aspects of the overall program and the individual learning of each student
• Integrate diversity, equity, inclusiveness and belonging into the classroom learning environment

Annual compensation is based on our Faculty Grid, which factors in qualifications and up to 12 years of teaching experience:

• Entry to 6 Years: $71,000 – $101,000
• Over 6 Years: $102,000 – $138,000
