Job summary

Oxford Learning Saint-Laurent is seeking a part-time Teacher-Tutor to support students in French, math and science after school hours and on Saturdays. Lessons are pre-planned; successful applicants will be trained in our proprietary methods and will teach in-person at the Saint-Laurent centre.

The position runs after 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm weekdays and 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturdays, with relocation not offered and a requirement to commute. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary students with tutoring experience will be considered.
• Teaching certification is an asset.
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 11 curriculum, including math and science.

Responsibilities

• Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
• Teaching online and in-person.
• Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
• Filling in post-lesson notes.
• Completing daily student communication updates.

French, Math, and Science Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Our hours count! Gain valuable teaching experience! Oxford Learning VSL is currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.
Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning do not need to plan lessons before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements

All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work after school and in the evenings (4:00 pm - 7:00 pm), as well as on Saturdays (9:00am - 1:00pm). We prefer a commitment through the end of the school year. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.
This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

• Postsecondary students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification is an asset
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 11 curriculum, including math and science

Experience

• Some experience teaching/tutoring English, French, math and science at a Kindergarten to Grade 11 (or equivalent) level
• Strong English and French written and oral communication skills
• Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Schedule
