We’re looking for a driven and experienced Bilingual (French) Mortgage Underwriter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and has a talent for building professional relationships.

What You’ll Do

As a key member of the underwriting team, you will work closely with both the Services division and Broker Channel Sales team to facilitate smooth and efficient private mortgage transactions.

Responsibilities include :

• Analyze and verify mortgage applications and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and risk.
• Follow up on issued commitments and quoted deals to ensure timely completion.
• Collaborate with Business Relationship Managers and Fulfillment Officers to support broker partners and drive deal flow.
• Review and interpret appraisals and ensure documentation is in line with lending policies.
• Maintain accurate and updated broker partner information.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, lenders, and third-party partners.
• Provide timely service to broker partners with a strict 2-hour SLA.
• Stay informed on industry trends, competitors, and regulatory updates.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

Qualifications :

• Minimum 5 years of experience in mortgage underwriting (residential focus preferred).
• Bilingual fluency in French and English is required.
• Broker channel experience is preferred.
• Experience with end-to-end underwriting processes, including fulfillment and funding.
• Background in renovation and draw financing is an asset.
• Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
• Strong command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Pro).

Skills & Attributes :

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Organized, goal-oriented, and self-motivated.
• Sales, networking, and marketing experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of AML, FINTRAC compliance, and FSCO licensing is a plus.
