Job summary

The Horizon Health Network in the Fredericton area seeks an Occupational Therapist 2 – Supervisor and/or Clinical Leader (OT02) to provide supervisory and clinical leadership within the Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation. The role is a SHCP-type supervisory/leadership position combining OT practice and team guidance.

It requires registration with NBOTA and CAOT, 1 year leadership in OT, and full-time availability on weekdays.

Qualifications

• Must be registered and a member in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Occupational Therapists and with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.
• Must have progressive related work experience (1 year) in which leadership ability and competency as an occupational therapist has been demonstrated.
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring daily staff coverage, assign and review work, participate in staff recruitment and orientation, assist in performance management, participate in the development and administration of policies and procedures and in quality improvement
• Completing administrative duties, reports, statistical activities and expense claim management
• Recommending and sourcing equipment, preparing proposals for new equipment
• Ordering, managing and monitoring inventory
• Performing the work of an occupational therapist
• Ensuring services provided are consistent with professional scope of practice and regional policies and procedures
• Providing clinical support and advice to professionals and to management regarding clinical practices
• Participating in formal clinical research
• Making recommendations on development of services/programs, specific products and equipment, resources required for delivery of services, and methods and processes to improve services
• Performing the work of an occupational therapist
