The Fraud Operations Team is looking to fill a specialist position on the Compliance Investigations team. The ideal candidate will work on multiple case queues, taking ownership of responsibilities such as ad hoc reviews, sanctions and PEP alerts, and bank partner escalations. They should have a deep understanding of their specific work and case types, as well as familiarity with other operations teams. With minimal direction from leadership, this person will prioritize tasks, resolve issues, and meet production and accuracy goals. They will also support teammates and shared services with questions, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and handle vendor escalations and challenging cases.

What You'll Do
  1. Regularly review suspicious account activities, diagnose account issues, and identify links to deter fraud attacks.
  2. Monitor and review accounts flagged for potential fraud risk, Sanctions, and PEP reviews.
  3. Collaborate with teams like Fraud Strategy & Analytics, Financial Crimes, and Merchant Risk to share fraud trends and insights on new behaviors and methods.
  4. Independently resolve complex fraud scenarios using data, information from various tools, and sound judgment.
  5. Handle ad hoc tasks and small projects efficiently.
  6. Support vendor teams with escalations.
What We Look For
  • Experience in fraud operations, compliance, or chargebacks/disputes within the tech or fintech industry.
  • A keen eye for detecting and deterring fraud and risk behaviors.
  • Knowledge of fraud investigative techniques and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of SQL or some programming language is a plus.

Pay Grade: E

Equity Grade: 1

Employees new to Affirm typically start at the beginning of the pay range. Affirm offers a transparent pay structure based on location, experience, and skills.

Base pay ranges from $63,000 to $83,000 annually, complemented by benefits such as health coverage, stipends, and equity rewards.

Affirm is a remote-first company, allowing most roles to be performed remotely within the country of employment, with some roles requiring occasional office presence.
