Job summary

Jane Software Inc. is building a founding engineering team to own our customer data infrastructure, event pipelines, CDP tooling, and identity resolution. You will assess existing systems, define direction, and implement cohesive standards for data collection and governance.

You’ll collaborate with marketing, analytics, BI, and product to ensure reliable attribution, scalable pipelines, and privacy‑compliant instrumentation across platforms. This is a core founder‑level role in Canada.

Qualifications

• Experience as a data engineer or similar with event collection and data pipelines in production.
• Ability to lead strategy and execution across engineering, product, BI, marketing, and leadership.
• Experience evaluating or implementing Customer Data Platforms and migration/consolidation.
• Experience with privacy‑compliant tracking and consent management in regulated environments.
• Strong opinions on schema design, event taxonomy, and data quality.
• Experience with identity resolution, attribution, or cross‑domain tracking.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and SQL; Python is a strong asset; familiarity with Snowflake/Looker is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Own the how and set direction, standards, and execution across data infrastructure.
• Build and maintain Jane's customer data infrastructure end‑to‑end, including pipelines and source integrations.
• Collaborate with marketing, analytics, BI, and product on attribution and campaign tracking.
• Drive tooling strategy for the collection layer, CDP, and ingestion infrastructure.
• Establish instrumentation standards for data collection and governance.
• Take ownership of identity resolution and attribution across channels and touchpoints.
• Navigate consent‑gated instrumentation within PHI compliance constraints.
