Job summary

Talent.com is seeking a Founding Engineer to take technical ownership of an AI-native platform. You will ship end-to-end from FastAPI backends to customer-facing UI (Next.js/React) and establish the team’s workflows, architecture, and quality standards.

You’ll own frontend and backend decisions, design patterns, and a foundation for the team’s growth, while engaging with customers and translating feedback into product improvements in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• Shipped full-stack features from DB to UI and can work across back and front-end
• Built greenfield frontend architecture decisions with clear reasoning and team buy-in
• Strong Python on the backend with async web services and ORM
• Strong modern frontend skills with React/Next.js/Svelte/Vue and good UX
• Experience shipping AI-native products or models to real users and handling latency

Responsibilities

• Own the product surface end-to-end from backend services to user-facing frontend
• Define and establish how an AI-native team works, shipping fast with rigorous reviews
• Keep codebase agent-friendly with architecture boundaries and strong tests
• Choose frontend stack, set patterns, and build a solid foundation for the team
• Build AI-enabled features and dashboards on data pipelines and HR workflows
• Participate in customer conversations and translate feedback into product improvements
• Maintain high-quality craftsmanship with strong typing and maintainable boundaries
• Mentor future hires and establish frontend standards from day one
