Milya AI in Montreal is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to own and accelerate the development of ambient AI systems. You will lead end-to-end work on real-time speech processing, LLM orchestration, and autonomous receptionist/scribe workflows, collaborating closely with the core team.

You will architect scalable backend services, build low-latency voice pipelines, and craft intuitive frontend interfaces, delivering production-grade AI systems in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in AI/ML and engineering with real-world AI applications.
• Full-stack mastery across backend and frontend technologies.
• Hands-on with LLM APIs, vector DBs, and real-time audio streams.
• Experience with secure data pipelines and cloud deployment.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are looking for an exceptionally ambitious, high-velocity Senior AI Engineer who thrives in fast-paced, high-ownership startup environments. You will work 100% on-site alongside our core team in Montreal to build, scale, and refine our next-generation AI agent ecosystem—focusing directly on ambient AI scribes and autonomous AI receptionists.

This is not a corporate, incremental role. You will have full ownership across the stack: orchestrating cutting-edge AI voice models, building ultra-low latency backend systems, and shipping intuitive frontend interfaces. If you love zero-to-one engineering, solving hard technical problems in real time, and moving fast without sacrificing architectural quality, this role is built for you.

• Voice & Conversational AI Tech: Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, vector databases, and real-time audio streams.

• Solid Infrastructure: Deep understanding of relational/non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, Redis) and cloud deployment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

• 100% On-Site in Montreal: Excited to collaborate in person with the team every day.

Nice to Have

• Prior early-stage startup experience (founding team, early engineering hire, or venture-backed startup).
