Job description

At McMan Calgary & Area, connection is at our core. Every year, we make a meaningful difference in the lives of more than 5,000 children, youth, adults, and families by providing programs and services that support those with complex needs—including mental health challenges, addictions, homelessness, poverty, and disabilities. We believe in everyone's deep and infinite worth, and no matter who you are, we will walk alongside you.

Through our work, we rebuild, integrate, and strengthen connections—to self, peers, families, communities, support professionals, and the land—because people need people. Our sense of well‑being, identity, and belonging comes from relationships, and healing happens through these connections. Professional supports are there for a season or a reason—not a lifetime—because our goal is to empower individuals and families to thrive independently.

For 35 years, McMan Calgary has been providing foster care services in Calgary and surrounding communities. Our foster care program offers safe, caring, out‑of‑home placement in a family environment for children and youth that are unable to live at home. Foster care services are designed to provide temporary, stable, trauma‑informed and culturally responsive care for babies, children and youth. The primary goal of foster care is for children to return to their family of origin, kin or community.

Do you see yourself as patient, empathetic and resilient?

Do you have the ability to adapt to diverse needs?

Can you communicate effectively and professionally with other team members?

If these statements describe you, then fostering may be a suitable fit!

What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for compassionate caregivers that believe in the importance of natural connections in a child/youth’s life. Foster caregivers are expected to be actively engaged with the biological family/family of origin and the siblings of children and youth in their care. If you are ready to provide love, stability, and care for vulnerable babies, children and youth, we encourage you to become part of our thriving program.

McMan Calgary is seeking Foster Parents in the following locations: Calgary, Airdrie, Banff, Canmore, Strathmore, Chestermere, Langdon, Okotoks, High River and Claresholm.

  • Participate fully in the reunification process
  • Commit to ongoing learning and professional development, including attending training to ensure you are equipped to provide trauma‑informed care

  • You are able to provide a clear Child Intervention Check.
