Job summary

Catholic Social Services in Central Alberta invites caring individuals to partner as foster families. We seek committed individuals to provide love, stability, and care to vulnerable children and navigate the licensing process together with our agency.

Applicants complete screening, home study, and licensing steps, with ongoing training and support from CSS. We offer guidance and a collaborative environment for safeguarding children.

Qualifications

  • Following Government of Alberta requirements for application, there are various criteria that must be met to become a foster parent.

Responsibilities

  • Meet all needs of a child in foster care (relational, recreational, dental, medical, optical, food, shelter, and school).
  • Work as a collaborative member of a team of professionals to meet goals for the child(ren) placed.
  • Support connections with family when deemed appropriate by the case team.
  • Be committed to learning strategies and techniques to provide the best trauma informed care to a child, and maintain required annual training for licensing.
  • Meet documentation and reporting requirements as determined by policy.
